Gentleman Joe and His Reading Magic Show

Kids of all ages can join us for a performance with Gentleman Joe and his Reading Magic Show.  Gentleman Joe combines humor with his skills of juggling, magic, and balloon art!

Wednesday, October 26th at 4:00 PM.  No registration required.


LEGO Club

LEGO figure headThe next LEGO Club meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 21st at 4:00 PM.  The meeting lasts one hour.  Please DO NOT bring your own LEGOs from home.  LEGOs will be provided by the library.

Game Day

Game Day will be on Thursday, June 14th from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM.  For grades 4-8 ONLY.  The Wii will be displayed on the projector, and the Xbox 360 will be available on the flat screen TV.  Board games will also be available on the tables.  Snacks will be provided by the library.  Please DO NOT send children in grades below 4th; they will NOT be allowed to attend.

Library Extension

As you browse for books on sites like Amazon and Goodreads, the Library Extension can check the Wellsville Library's online catalog and display the availability of that item on the same page.

To start, visit www.libraryextension.com, then click on the button to install on either Chrome or Firefox (Firefox extension is still being developed; for Chrome, a prompt may come up asking if you want to add this extension to your browser, click "Add to Chrome" or "Add Extension"): 

After you do this, the next window will have a place to enter your email.  YOU DON'T HAVE TO ENTER YOUR EMAIL.  Come back to this tutorial and follow the next step.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After you have done this, you will see that an icon that looks like a little stack of books has been added to the top right of your browser.  Click on this (in the red circle in the picture below).  Then choose "Ohio" from the dropdown box.  "Then choose "Wellsville Carnegie Public Library" from the second dropdown box and click on the green + symbol.  Then click on the Close box.

Now when you visit sites (such as Amazon or Goodreads) where the extension can be used, the icon will be in color (sites where it cannot be used, it will appear gray).

Here's an example of Amazon.com (extension shown in red circle, ability to buy this item from Amazon would appear beneath this extension):

UPDATE (6/27): Starting TODAY (Tuesday) the library is back to normal operating hours.  

UPDATE (6/26) UPDATE: TODAY (Monday) the Wellsville Library will be CLOSING EARLY at 1:00 PM. TOMORROW (Tuesday, 6/27) we will be having SUMMER READING at 10:30 AM in the Children's room. REMINDER there are NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS available.

UPDATE (6/20): The Wellsville Library is operating on an abbreviated time schedule.  We are open from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM until further notice.   There is NO ACCESS to the basement level, including NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS.  All programs at this time have been CANCELED, including Tuesday's (6/20) Summer Reading Program, LEGO Club, Mystery Book Club, and the Origami Program.  We'll update the information here and on our Facebook page as soon as we learn more.  Thank you for your support and your patience.

EMERGENCY (6/15): there was severe flooding at the library tonight (Thursday, 6/15). The library will remained CLOSED until further notice. Teddy Bear Sleepover has been CANCELLED. Tuesday's Summer Reading Program will also be CANCELLED. No fines will be charged on days that we are closed, so no worries. We'll keep you updated as soon as we know more about the state of the building.

There's a group for your toddler, preschooler, or school-aged child.  Kids can join us for stories, games, snacks, and crafts. 

Preschool: Thursdays starting September 14th  at 3:30 PM

School-aged: Tuesdays starting September 12th at 3:30 PM

Toddlers: Thursdays starting September 14th at 11:30 AM

Pre-registration is REQUIRED to make sure we have enough crafts and snacks available for every child.

Captain Underpants posterWe will be showing the movie Captain Underpants for kids on Wednesday, September 13th at 3:30 PM. Snacks will be provided by the library.  Movie ends at approximately 5:00 PM.

Adult Coloring Party

Come and enjoy an evening of relaxation.  Studies show coloring can have a calming effect on the adult mind and help to promote overall wellness.  We will provide the coloring pages, colored pencils, and refreshments.  Adults only.  Seats are limited.  Registration is required.

QuiltTickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and can be purchased at the circulation desk at the library.  Quilt was donated by Pricilla Lancaster.  Sponsored by the Friends of the Wellsville Public Library.  Drawing will be held on Friday, October 27th.
